The Icelandic company Strætó has decided to focus on digital communication for smart, smooth travel by investing in a digital IT solution. The company is the leader in public transport in Iceland and is beginning its digital investment with 120 buses in the Reykjavik area. The order value is SEK 3.3 million and includes the digital services WiFi for passengers and CCTV surveillance (surveillance cameras).

Public transport throughout the Nordic region is undergoing a major digitization process, with real-time integration and intelligent transport systems making it easier for operators and authorities to manage traffic flow. At the same time, today's passengers demand an efficient and attractive journey and they want more and better information during the trip.

MultiQ offers a solution with a multifunctional digital communication platform that makes it easier to improve the entire communication flow. The platform is scalable and Strætó has decided to invest in two different parts of this platform: WiFi for passengers and CCTV surveillance, i.e. surveillance cameras.

"The interest in digital communication in the public transport sector is increasing throughout the Nordic region. We can offer a complete IT solution that creates a high level of service and enhances the travel experience for passengers. It is very pleasing that Strætó has chosen MultiQ as its partner in the digital process" says Lars Pålsson, acting CEO of MultiQ.

Delivery will take place during spring 2018.
